When you're digging for the flute (in the grove) try digging in front of the tree trunk 
to get loads of rupees.

When you have the flute, go to the normal world, and enter the village. Go to the weather 
vein, and play the flute. A bird that looks like a duck should pop out. When you play the 
flute again, the bird will pick you up and drop you off at the selected point on your map.
