Once you get your lightsaber use it often. In the level just after the 
cutscene when you get your lightsaber from Wee-Gee don't leave right away. 
Look around for a switch. If you press it the droid that Luke used to train 
with when he first got his lightsaber will come down. It only takes 1 point 
off your shields if you miss a laser so don't worry about that. Practice 
blocking the lasers and hitting them back to the droid. To block don't swing 
the saber just move the saber to where the laser is headed to and it will be 
blocked automatically. This is good practice for when you go out to fight. 

In all levels look to find the least obvious way to beat the level. That will 
usually lead to success. And use the quicksave (F9) key often.
