Caesar 3

Attack formation hint: For this to work, you must have Towers, Walls, Auxiliary Infantry. While playing Caesar III in a map with military action, build Auxiliary Infantry. When you have an opponent who can only attack hand-to-hand like the Carthaginians, send your infantry out of the city walls. Select them in a formation in which is perpendicular to the angle of attack (like a T, where the top of the letter T is your infantry and the | part of the T is the direction the enemy army is moving.) As the enemy draws closer, move your infantry away from their current position and change the formation, once again, so they are perpendicular to the enemy. Continue to do this until the enemy is dead (this works really well only with small armies of 1-30 or so). If you don't understand this, here's why it works: if you have enough towers, they will continue to fire upon the enemy. Because your Spearmen are fast, they can move well. The enemy can't touch them, but your towers can, so they are constantly losing morale and men. That's why it works. (Note: This will also work well with Horsemen, who are even faster, but don't get into any hand-to-hand combat with them.) by Gary
