Quest for Glory Series
I have the series; finished them all with a perfect character and score on two; and i've probed it so much I know some bugs that can be taken advantage of. They're in the attached file
Fiend
In the Quest for Glory Series, there are some bugs and work-arounds that can get you some serious help.
I-So you want to be a hero;
1.In the Thieves Guild, playing dag-nab-it will let you get up to 50 points for throwing; play with stakes of 1 silver, the night after you did the robberies.
2.Sleep at Erana's Peace every night. It boosts your health and strength attributes.
3.After playing the chief until he gets hard, go and buy lots of daggers. Then, go to the Ogre's cave, and throw them at him until he gets within fighting distance. Escape, then go back into the glen, grabbing all lost daggers just before you leave.
4.There is a chest of gold coins in the Kobold's cave that can be accessed by sneaking to the south, until you bump into it. Careful, unless the Kobold is dead, you can alert him to your prescence, and that is a bad thing.
5.If you're ever in need of a mobile lock to pick (and you don't mind personal hygiene), you can use the command PICK NOSE. This will act like a lock, and if you aren't skilled enough, you'll kill yourself from a brain haemmorage. Do it right, and you'll have an open nose. 6.It's not necessary to go to slink and sneak in the alley to get the password its usually PURPLE SAURUS, RHEINGOLD, DEUTSCHMARK (spelling uncertain), ANTWERP, or ACH DU LEIBER (spelling uncertain.) SCHWERTFISCH (as before,) and SCHVEINHUND (see previous) are outside chances.
7.If you're high on stamina, and aren't too worried about losing it, along with some time, ask Crusher in the bar about the thieves' guild. He throws you out, and you'll have advanced one phase of the day. II-Trial by Fire.
1.Before you go to the moneychanger's, go outside of Keapon Laffin's shop. Type GIVE MONEY, and amazingly, cash will be handed to the plant seller. This is even better for your honour; You can get 200 with a little patience and a steady F3-Enter pattern.
2.Don't ever, ever, ever go into the desert UNLESS YOU HAVE TO!!! 3.Giving the chemist more feathers will get you even more potions; they're no use to anyone, though.
4.Avoid the desert without a Saurus.
5.In the five day lead-up to the EOF, train with Uhura a lot. Lots of Vigor pills and a full flask of water will do you no end of good.
6. Before going to Rasier, stock up on Healing and Vigor pills. Then when the genie shows up, you can just wish for two attributes.
7. When fighting Khaveen, GRAB SWORD will get the sword back up when he tells you to kneel.
8.Avoid the Desert.
9.Aziza will help you if you were sent by Rakeesh or Keapon; the answer to their questions are FIGHTING A DEMON, and AIR, respectively.
10. Avoid the Desert.
11. FETCHing the main body of the whirling staff in WIT is more effective and less mana consuming than FORCE BOLTing the whirling bits. 12. When attacked at night, there are better attacks for different monsters;
Ghoul - High swings. Try not to move too much, tiring yourse-
lf out will kill you even faster in this fight.
Scorpion - Low swings. If it wiggles its tail, DODGE like a
hamster on amphetamenes.
Jackalmen - Thrusts. Kill them one at a time, and if you do it
fast, some run away.
13. Did I mention avoiding the desert?
III-Wages Of War
1.Go to some isolated savanna place, and hold down HAND on the ground. Then select the rocks from your inventory, and hold down the ENTER key until you've run out. This can get you a lot of throwing points. 2.Same process with the spears, though you have to check your stamina every now and again, or you die.
3.Reversal really screws up leopardmen.
4.Fire blast is a better spell than Force Bolt.
5.Fetching things is better than Levitating to them.
6.Buy about ten royals worth of meat from Kalb at one common per meat, then wait for nightfall. Go to the theif in the bazaar, then select the meat. Move it over the thief and put a lead weight on the ENTER key. When you run out, just do it again to get a lot of Honour.
IV-Shadows Of Darkness.
1.Search every corpse you find in the start rooms.
2.Avoid wraithes until you get the amulet or aura spell from the gypsies. 3.There's some money in the stump outside town.
4.In Erana's garden, one of the lamps holds 50 crowns. 5.Throwing rocks then casting fetch are good ways of gettin Elder Bury berries without the rubber chicken.
6.If you want to get extra points, talk to the shopkeeper, then the gatekeeper then the shopkeeper again until they promise to go see each other again. 7.When at the old man's house, return the locket.
8.Burning the monastery gets you points. The carpet burns best. 9.Igor is a thermometer for your popularity. Talking to him shows how much the people like you.
10.Visit Katrina every night you can.
11.Get some more grue goo or Bone meal for Baba Yaga to get some extra gifts. 12.Only the Chernovy have money, and they're the only ones worth fighting. Don't bother fighting anything else save wraiths.
Thanks.
